Dermabrasion Skin Resurfacing

Good Candidate for Dermabrasion – Skin Resurfacing:
- Non-smoker
- Not in the active stages of acne
- Generally in good health
- Men and Women of all ages
Procedure Description:
Dermabrasion is performed as an outpatient procedure performed under a local anesthesia. This procedure can be done fairly quickly and is often done in an hour or less. Depending on your particular situation you may require several treatments.
During your procedure, the doctor will scrape away the topmost layer of skin until he reaches the safest level that will make the wrinkles or scars appear less visible.

Rocovery:
Following the procedure you may experience some swelling or discomfort that can be managed with medication. The swelling should diminish within a week. Your skin will be sensitive and may appear pink for several weeks following the surgery. You should be able to return to work after two weeks. You will need to avoid activities that could result in bumping your faces for a couple of weeks. You may need to refrain from more strenuous sports or activities for up to six weeks.
